Garden Hose Disconnect Subsystem
for
Bigfoot Water Rocket Launcher System

RETURN HOME -

Modifing the Bigfoot Water Rocket Launcher system to fit garden hose quick disconnects is very easy. Basically, you will remove the Bigfoot Trigger Mechanism and the launch tube & install a new riser which has a garden hose quick disconnect.

Bigfoot Launcher with Garden Hose Quick Disconnect Riser installed. Notice yellow rocket has circular fin located way below bottle neck.

This is the top of the new riser. Basically, I glued two paper clips on opposite sides so I could attach strings that will pull the green collar downward.

See how it's glued on & how I bent the paper clip outwards. I tied the string on with a half bow so I can easliy disassemble.

Notice that I've drilled the steel flange to recieve the string. The bottom of the riser tube has a common 1/2 inch NPT pipe thread, which mounts to the brass anchor inside the flange.

The riser pipe in this case is 1/2" Schedule 80 PVC. It could be steel or other materials. In this example, the riser is 28 inches tall to accomodate rockets with fins very far below the neck. See how the strings go thru the flange and up front on both sides of the brass manifolds. The front of the string is a loop and I simply HOOKED it with the normal pull string used for the trigger mechanism.
